13/08/2012 - 19/08/2012: Pussy Riot

Before I start this week’s rant I’m gonna say I do have twitter so follow @WannabePolitics. So, in this week’s news one of the main features is the Russian female punk band Pussy Riot and about three of their members being sentenced for Blasphemy or Treason or something upon them lines for going against the regime, to be fair I didn’t even realise there was one especially in what seems a modern country both within and outside Europe. I’m not a fan of regimes myself mainly as I live within a free society. What do you all think about it?

06/08/2012 - 12/08/2012: Olympics again.

I know, my second post on the Olympics, but it’s all over, best highlight, Super Saturday, three gold medals for Great Britain in 44 minutes. We have some great athletes but some people are still not happy about it, saying we should have come at least second, but the thought of home much funding or lack of it that athletes this side get. Britain has done well, I think anyway and I hope that the Paralympics does well too. I hope it is advertised, televised and that all our athletes are supported better than ever before. That is my hope.

30/07/2012 - 05/08/2012: Ireland

This week, been different from the rest, I spent five days of it on the Emerald Isle but rather sad I didn’t see any little men with green buckles on their hats. I was a tad worried to be fair, me having the most British or more London accent that can be achieved how I would be looked upon in rural Republic of Ireland especially when I saw sein fein buildings. I don’t know all that much to do with Irish politics, I’d like too, I should do seeing how close they are to me, any Irish reading this now?

23/07/2012 - 29/07/2012: London 2012

Olympics started Friday and the whole of Britain is on the world’s stage. It’s been going two days and patriotism has hit most Britain’s. One thing that people disagree with is the fact that MP’s get free tickets for most events when some tickets can cost over £2000. The 100m final is the one where the majority of people there will be celebrities, politicians and sponsors of the games. On the other hand the opening ceremony was amazing, British history in the space of a few hours, makes me proud to be British. Let’s hope it goes smooth from here.
