Last Tuesday I went somewhere that makes me a very happy girl indeed, the Houses of Parliament in Westminster in Central London. Here is how my day went.
I arrived at around half 9 with members of the sixth form who, like me who are rather exited about politics. Once we got through security we walked through the square where Big Ben went off above us telling us it was 10am. We met our rather eccentric tour guide in Westminster Hall and had the tour around. But I have to admit the best part of it was the Precession of the Speaker.
Now, I’m not being strange here, or any more strange than I usually am but I have a little obsession with the Speaker of the House of Commons, the one and only John Bercow, so much that me and others around the school have founded the JBAS (John Bercow Appreciation Society). If you do not know who he is, google or even better youtube him now. I saw the precession that was specifically for him and then sat in the gallery watching over parliament for an hour. I counted 5-0 to Bercom against the MP’s. Any more fans?
