I’m sorry to put a downer on the festive season but I’d like you to give a thought to those families whom will be having Christmas day without their sons/daughters/mothers. I am sadly referring to the Sandy Hook school shooting massacre in Newtown, Connecticut. This was where 20 primary school aged children and 6 adults were killed trying to protect them.
The gunman took the gun from his mother whom he shot before leaving for the school and then shot himself when police were after him.
Being British I could not imagine being in a place where guns are completely legal and that anyone can go and buy one, especially the fact that gun sales rose after this shooting, where is the logic in that?
In regards of the politics in America I am aware it is written in the constitution and that it would be very difficult to amend but can politicians not see, especially Republicans that there is something wrong when something like this happens often. I think Obama should put his foot down and introduce something, even if it is just to make it harder to get a gun in first place. It’s just such a shame.
